Angie is the Founder and Director of Garcia Forner Consulting Ltd, a company registered in UK (2014) and Kenya (2016) helping individuals and organisations unleash their potential and generate the impact they want to see. The company provides strategic and transformational Human Resource and Coaching services. We help our clients generate new possibilities and accelerate their transformation by challenging the status quo. Our approach to work is based on a global perspective adapted to local reality. Our work is inspired by optimism, connection to others, excellence and integrity, and our motto is 'performing BEYOND the box'.
In Kenya, Angie’s Consulting clients have included organisations like MP Shah and Jambopay, and FinTech companies Umati Capital and MODE; current clients include a food production company, a conglomerate of companies in manufacturing and services, and a FinTech company; the assignments have ranged from Talent Management, Executive Recruitment, Performance Management and Coaching to more holistic strategic HR transformation projects.
From a Coaching perspective, Angie has coached a number of senior professionals and entrepreneurs in Kenya, across public and corporate sectors, within her specialisation in transformational Performance Coaching (including Executive Coaching, Career Coaching and Business Coaching). As a Coach Angie is passionate about supporting leaders to enhance their performance, especially in cases where the individual is undertaking a personal transition, and help individuals feel empowered towards realising their life purpose. Coaching clients have been either private individuals, corporate executives and Angie has been collaborating as well with Strathmore Business School assisting as an Adjunt Coach for the MBA and MPPM programs.
Prior to her being based in Kenya, Angie’s corporate career as HR professional encompasses over 14 years of experience in financial services industry in London, both as a HR generalist and recruitment specialist, in diverse UK and EMEA wide roles. During this time she worked extensively with internal clients across revenue generating areas within Banking; her roles were always strongly based on relationship management and she was also a manager of others within the recruitment teams. Her experience in Banking extends across different organisations: Citi, Credit Suisse/AMS, UBS Investment Bank and lastly HSBC.
Her most recent corporate employer was Citi where she held EMEA wide accountability HR positions supporting up to 55 countries across Europe, Middle East & Africa, firstly as Regional Resourcing Partner for Citi Markets & Research and later on as a Regional Business Partner looking after part of the Corporate Bank as a generalist. Previously she has held several positions at UBS Investment Bank and Credit Suisse across Graduate and Professional Recruitment managing the recruitment strategy, operations and teams recruiting for revenue generating functions.
Prior to working in the private sector, Angie served two years as fulltime Director of AIESEC International and President of AIESEC in Spain respectively, an international not-for-profit organisation promoting cultural understanding through international exchange of students.
Angie holds a MA in Human Resources Management from London Metropolitan University and a Bachelor’s degree in Translation & Interpreting from the Universitat Jaume I in Spain. She is a Chartered Member CIPD (UK). She completed HOGAN and SHL assessment certifications. She is currently completing her Diploma in Life & Personal Performance Coaching (PPD) by The Coaching Academy (UK). She is Spanish/Catalan native and speaks English and French to business level. Angie has dual Spanish and British nationality and she is in possession of Permanent Residence status in Kenya. In 2017 she has also graduated from Cohort 7 of the Female Future programme, designed and imparted by the Kenya Federation of Employers to increase and enhance female leadership in Boards.
She is married to a Kenyan national and has two sons. She enjoys cooking, travelling and anything related to art; Angie is also an active member of the community: mentoring with the Precious Sisters Charity, a charity supporting secondary education for girls in Kenya and previously in UK the Cherie Blair Foundation Women in Business Mentorship Programme.
